Born in Eden, NC Travis started playing guitar at the eve of his 14th birthday. After hearing Edward Van Halen at the age of 15 he knew this was his calling to perform music. He immediately started playing live at the age of 15 in various small venues in the NC area. By the age of 17 he had recorded his first EP in the studio and started working for other local artist both live and in the studio. At 20 years old after growing frustrations of finding a vocalist that clicked he heard the late, great front man Layne Staley of Seattle National Recording Artists " Alice in Chains" and "Soundgarden's" Chris Cornell. Deciding soon after he would step in front of the mic forcing himself to learn how to sing. In 2005 after recording various demos he formed and fronted Rock/Alternative band "The Last Hour". The band would soon write and record their first debut EP " A Month of Sundays" Released in 2008.
In 2010 Travis moved to Houston, Texas where he quickly started performing with various top cover bands on the scene such as Big Richard, The Elroys, Whiskey Picks & Fal Sky playing bars, casinos, and private events. Soon after his arrival in Texas he would reform his original band The Last Hour quickly sharing the stage with National Acts such as Buckcherry, 10 Years, Candlebox, Puddle of Mudd and more.
In February 2014 Travis was recruited by Creed front man "Scott Stapp" to play guitar and backing vocals in support of his "Proof of Life" solo tour. Over the year he covered well over half the United States, to Canada all the way to Europe playing for hundreds to 10,000 fans each night. During his stint with Scott Stapp band he would have the honor and privilege to learn and play along side the likes of such as guitarist Andy Wood (Rascal Flatts), drummer Chad Szeliga (Breaking Benjamin/Black Label Society) and Daughtry bassist Andrew Waldeck. It was an amazing experience teaching him about what its like touring on a national level and has left him craving more.
But for now when Travis isn't on the road or writing/ recording for The Last Hour, he performs solo acoustic shows, duos, and is one of the go to guys for lead guitar and vocals whenever Houston area bands get in a pinch. He is still currently a professional musician in and off stage since practice is also one of his passions outside of performing always striving to be better even after 20 years of playing music. Chances are, at least 5 nights or more out of a week you will find him somewhere doing what he does best, playing music and putting smiles on peoples faces.
